Harris Goes Off, But Puffer Fish Win
|
Flint second baseman Ed Harris had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Plattsburgh at Plattsburgh Park. Harris belted 3 home runs. Lou Anderson closed the game out for Plattsburgh, earning his 9th save. Plattsburgh is 42-36 and Flint, with the loss, 24-54.
Mark Thornber found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Flint hurler Chong-yee Meng, the 19-year-old center fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 19th walk of the season put the Puffer Fish on top, 4-3.
"Credit where credit is due," said Thornber, "this was a team win."
