Crossbeaus Defeat Shockers, 6-5

The Beaumont Crossbeaus did just enough to secure a victory over the Surprise Shockers, 6-5, in 10 innings at Shockers Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Terry Ward. With the win, Beaumont goes to 45-33, while the Shockers fall to 41-37.
Beaumont used the timely hitting of Tom Phoolery to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Terry's a trooper," said Beaumont manager Ángel Macías. "He always gives it all he's got."
