Mockingbirds Even Record with 3-1 Victory
|
Mississippi starter Noud Taaij put the Panama City offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his forkball in leading the Mockingbirds to a 3-1 win. Taaij got the win, improving to 4-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Mississippi raised its record to 21-21 with the win.
Making an impact for the home team was Willie Norris. In the bottom of the fourth, the 26-year old catcher had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Mockingbirds.
"I really like what we did out there today," Norris said after the game.
