Toros Get One-Run Win at Moose Jaw
|
Foresters Stadium was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Toros faced a stiff challenge from Moose Jaw pitcher Javier Delgado, but persevered to claim a win at Foresters Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Delgado went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Sexto Pérez snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 4.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season.
Salvador Huerta, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Huerta contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Tijuana up, 1-0.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Huerta told the Tijuana Observer.
The Canucks fall to 7-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.
