Lucero Now 3-1 After Beating Harbor Whales
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Long Island Ducks and the Greenport Harbor Whales, 20-year old left-handed pitcher Julián Lucero was the difference-maker. The Long Island left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The win gives Long Island a record of 9-7.
Lucero earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Long Island. The native of San Diego, California, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Greenport hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"Julián's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Long Island manager Don Martin.
