Ballard turned a fine outing from starter Steven Collier into a victory over the Quebec City Baby Blues at The Beaver Dam. The final score was 5-2. Ray Melton earned the save, his 1st. Losses have been rare for the Baby Blues, who are now 13-3.
The Beavers had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Ballard. But Quebec City, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had mounted a threat. Dolf Asmus dug in at the plate. But on a 2-2 fastball, Asmus hit into a double play.
