Northern Virginia designated hitter José Mondragon had a good game, even if his team did not. The Rainbow Mermaids dropped a 7-5 decision to Mexico City at Condor Nest. Mondragon was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tom Johnston, the winner, is now 2-1. He struck out 7 and walked 2 over 7.1 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The loss drops the Rainbow Mermaids to 7-8.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Blue Demons grabbed the lead on a two-out single by Justin Jacobson. Mexico City at the time was trailing 3-2, but Jacobson's 2-run single off Pablo Valentín put his team in front.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Blue Demons," said Jacobson.
