Crossbeaus Get Past Maine, 4-3
|
Maine got a decent performance from pitcher Artie Morrow, but it wasn't enough to beat the Beaumont Crossbeaus. Beaumont won the The Target contest, 4-3. Morrow threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Beaumont reliever Alex Wicksted was the winner. His record is now 2-5. Peter Gregory took the loss. Beaumont is third in the Silver Low A with a record of 46-34.
Josh Williams drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Beaumont. The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Peter Gregory. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"We ground out the win," said Williams. "That's all that matters."
