Zoomies Suffer One-Run Loss at Amarillo
|
The Amarillo Warheads eked out a 3-2 win versus the Shady Side Zoomies at Ballpark of Henderson. Nobody did more than pitcher Otojiro Kozawa. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Kozawa, now 6-7. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. Gerald Delgado earned the save, his 5th.
The Warheads got a big at-bat from second baseman Monty Scott. For the game, Scott went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Amarillo a 3-1 lead.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Kozawa crowed after the game.
Today's win puts Amarillo at 43-37, while Shady Side falls to 45-35.
