Zoomies Beat Trash Pandas, 6-5
|
The Shady Side Zoomies besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Watford City second baseman António Villarreal by beating the Trash Pandas, 6-5, at Trash Panda Field. Villarreal went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. Shady Side starter Reece Carne was credited with the win after throwing 86 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 6-4. Shady Side, now 45-36, holds down 4th place in the Silver Low A.
The Zoomies got an important contribution from second baseman Lou Rivas, who in the top of the fifth hit a 0-2 fastball to center for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Zoomies ahead, 6-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Rivas told the Shady Side Daily.
