The Ballard Beavers knocked off the Napanee Express, 11-5, at Paints Ballpark. Joe Hoffman hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Jeremy Foster got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits in 6 innings.

Paul Johnson had a big 3-run home run for the Beavers in the top of the fourth inning. With Ballard leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jody Hammond and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Beavers on top, 6-0.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Johnson.

The Express fall to 8-11 and continue their sputtering start to the 2063 season.
