Red-Hot Warheads Win Again
|
The Amarillo Warheads used a great performance from Bob Foster, who is tied for 5th in the SA- with a 2.34 ERA, to beat the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 3-0, at Plattsburgh Park. In 5.2 innings, Foster surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Gerald Delgado closed the game out for Amarillo, earning his 6th save.
Amarillo first baseman Roberto Duarte landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the top of the first. It was his 9th home run of the season. With it, the Warheads took a 3-0 lead.
"Watch and learn," said Duarte. "This is what good pitching looks like."
Amarillo has now won 8 in a row.
