Moose Jaw pitcher Kirby William did his part in helping his team defeat the Greenport Harbor Whales, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Moose Jaw reliever Nobuyoki Nii got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Alfonso Velásquez was tagged with the loss. The loss puts Greenport at 10-9.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eucla Cocklebiddy? The Moose Jaw designated hitter had a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Canucks on top, 3-2. For the game, Cocklebiddy had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cocklebiddy.
