Though he had a terrific game, Allan Henderson could not prevent his team, the Ballard Beavers, from absorbing a loss. Napanee won the game, 3-2. Henderson went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. Picking up the save was Eugene Brown, his 7th. The Express now own a record of 9-11.
The Beavers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Express going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Tom Lane came to the plate. Lane hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Ballard hurler Bruce Campbell. It was Lane's 3rd double of the year.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Lane.
