Harbor Whales Even Record with 8-4 Victory
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales spoiled a good performance by Maine right fielder Mike Adams, bumping off Maine, 8-4, at Ballpark of Robbins. Adams hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Xie-li Kun earned the win for Greenport. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The Harbor Whales now own a record of 10-10.
Ying-hua Dong hit a 3-run home run off Jack Simmons in the bottom of the second, which put the Harbor Whales ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Dong had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Dong told the Greenport Observer. "It's as simple as that."
