Baby Lakers Edge Trash Pandas, 2-1

The Bompton Baby Lakers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Watford City Trash Pandas at Field of the Browns. Nobody did more than pitcher Koos Lodder. He was terrific. Lodder picked up the win for Bompton, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-8. At 40-45, the Baby Lakers claim 7th place in the Silver Low A.
Marian Rab had a big run-scoring double for the Baby Lakers in the bottom of the third inning. With Bompton leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Sam Knox and swatted a double to center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baby Lakers ahead, 2-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Rab told the Bompton Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
