The Redwood Rhinos defeated the Germantown Uruguayans, 8-1, at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Redwood catcher Brandon Astbury had a superb performance. He belted 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times. Steve Kidd, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Uruguayans to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The second-place Rhinos have won 7 in a row.

With Redwood leading 3-0 in the top of the sixth, Astbury hit a fastball from José Zamora for a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Rhinos ahead, 7-0.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Rhinos manager Dave Parrish, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
