The Amarillo Warheads faced a tenacious opponent in Ladue pitcher Ernesto Chávez, but still scratched out a win at Ballpark of Henderson by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Chávez went 9 innings and allowed no runs. The victory gives Amarillo a record of 48-37.
Amarillo got a knockout punch from Liam McPoyle. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Amarillo skipper José López.
