Plattsburgh pitcher Vern Peña did his part in helping his team defeat the Maine Sea Dogs, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Lou Anderson earned the save for Plattsburgh, his 11th. Plattsburgh raised its record to 45-41 with the win.

Bayani Dayot cracked a home run off Patrick Cook in the top of the third. His 2-run blast put the Puffer Fish on top, 3-2. In all, Dayot had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"Vern pitched his heart out," said Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle.
