Super Swinger -- Miller Slams 5 Hits
|
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Ellesmere Island's 9-2 win over Bethlehem, third baseman Jerome Miller was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Kittie Park.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Miller said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Jerome Miller singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Lyndon Newson in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Dean Rotheray in the 9th.
Currently Miller is batting .345 with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
