Carsten Woestenberg helped his team muscle past the Shady Side Zoomies, 4-1. In the game, the Beaumont catcher was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. José Herrera, now 4-2, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The Crossbeaus saw their record improve to 48-38.
Woestenberg had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 cutter from Joachim Ruttman, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Crossbeaus a 3-0 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Woestenberg.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Woestenberg told the Beaumont Citizen.
