The Shady Side Zoomies got great pitching from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Edgar Vásquez, allowing them to bump off the Ogallala Octopi, 5-0. The setback makes Ogallala 39-48.

Vásquez, a native of Vertientes, Cuba, was dealing all game. He kept Ogallala hitters off-balance, while giving the Zoomies 8 quality innings. Vásquez threw 97 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 9.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Vásquez.
