Shockers Suffer 3-0 Loss to Angel Kitties
|
The Bethlehem Angel Kitties went home winners at Kittie Park, thanks in large part to starter Nico van Halteren. van Halteren stifled the Surprise Shockers, enabling Bethlehem to grab the 3-0 win. van Halteren, now 5-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The last-place Angel Kitties own a record of 30-57.
The Angel Kitties got an important contribution from right fielder Tony García, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 2-2 cutter to right for a run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Angel Kitties ahead, 1-0.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said García.
