Pitcher Kent Church was sensational for the Redwood Rhinos in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Long Island Ducks. Church picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Egor Wolfson recorded the save for Redwood, his 6th of the season. With the victory, the Rhinos upped their record to 12-10.
José Vera went 1 for 3 for Redwood. The 20-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tim Day. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
Church said his team "played with focus."
