The Philadelphia Liberty U-21, behind a great outing from Pedro Mejía, who leads the SA- in quality starts with 14, defeated the Surprise Shockers, 1-0, at Ballpark of Liberty. The save went to Robbie de Groot, his 29th this season. Philadelphia is now 64-25, 12 games up in the Silver Low A.

The Liberty U-21 liked what they saw from Mejía. The 19-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Shockers to no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings, and striking out 7.

"Pedro did a good job of managing their lineup," said Philadelphia manager Santiago Paez.
