Northwest Territory and Maine got after it at Sea Dogs Park.
Getting offensive support from Clancy Hendricks, the Northwest Territory Beavers topped the Maine Sea Dogs, 5-2. Hendricks was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Beavers. Chirag Somu snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 3 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Tim Evans recorded the save, his 9th.
The Beavers had to work out of trouble with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Northwest Territory. But Maine, with a runner on 1st, had mounted a threat. Curt Strickland dug in at the plate. But on a 1-1 fastball, Strickland hit into a double play.
The Beavers improved to 62-28.
