Tight Tilt Goes to Beavers, 4-3
|
Ballard beat Moose Jaw on the strength of starting pitcher Steven Harden's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Ballard sits in third place in the Menard's Low A at 14-9.
The Canucks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Beavers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old right fielder Paul Johnson came to the plate. Johnson hit a grand slam home run on a 0-2 cutter from Moose Jaw hurler Marcel Brunet. It was Johnson's 3rd home run of the year.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Johnson.
