A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Boston Patriots and Toledo Stingers.
The Boston Patriots locked up a win at Pacesetter Park, knocking off the Toledo Stingers, 8-4. On the mound for Boston was right-hander Mario Gonzáles. He played a major role in the triumph. Orlando Díaz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Boston used a timely hit from Roberto Soto to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Soto said.
The Patriots, now 14-2, have stormed out of the gates.
