The Colorado Billy Goats beat the Las Vegas Flamingos, 4-2. Colorado pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native Raúl Hernández led the way. Carroll Kelly, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Colorado is now 22-22, Las Vegas 20-24.
Colorado went up, 4-2, on Allan Jensen's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Jensen hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Las Vegas pitcher Kenny Busby stewing.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary. "It's usually not just one thing."
