Surprise Shockers starter Narihira Yamamoto turned in a top-notch performance against the Amarillo Warheads at Shockers Field. The result was a win for the Shockers, 2-1. Harlan MacKnight picked up the save, his 11th. The win makes Surprise 43-48.

The Shockers got a big at-bat from shortstop Dewitt Kennedy. For the game, Kennedy went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Surprise a 2-0 lead.

"Tough loss," said Amarillo manager José López. "The kind that burns a little inside."
