Flint picked up a win at Terriers Ballpark, bumping off the Shady Side Zoomies, 6-3. Pitcher Gonzalo Espinoza was a major reason the Crush emerged victorious. In 6.1 innings, Espinoza surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Greg Bradford collected his 5th save.
Flint designated hitter Chris Frank contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 65th hit of the season and put the Crush ahead, 2-0.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Frank told the Flint Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
The Crush raised their record to 27-64.
