Surprise pitcher Bartolo Martínez did his part in helping his team beat the Memphis Music, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Harlan MacKnight earned his 16th save in 20 chances. The win elevated the Shockers to 53-38.

Jorge Alemán had a big 2-run double for the Shockers in the bottom of the first inning. With Surprise leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Sherman and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shockers ahead, 3-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Shockers manager José Montalópez.
