Beaumont Rallies for 5-2 Win

Beaumont and Shady Side got after it at Terriers Ballpark.
The Beaumont Crossbeaus picked up a win at Terriers Ballpark, knocking off the Shady Side Zoomies, 5-2. On the mound for Beaumont was right-hander Raúl Sánchez. He played a key role in the triumph. In 8 innings, Sánchez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 1st save of the year was Dustin Torres.
Beaumont used a clutch hit from John Hines to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crossbeaus ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Raúl gave us a heck of an effort," said Beaumont manager José Ortega.
The win makes Beaumont 55-37.
