Surprise first baseman Nick Chamberlain picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Amarillo Warheads, 9-8. Surprise reliever José Gonzáles got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bob Smith was tagged with the loss. At 45-48, the Shockers are currently 7th in the Silver Low A.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Surprise trailing 8-5, Ryan Plaistowe delivered the decisive blow, stroking a curveball from Bob Smith for a grand slam home run. Ballgame.
