Tight Tilt Goes to Shockers, 3-2
|
The Surprise Shockers had to overcome a fine effort from Bompton pitcher Pila Milanni to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Field of the Browns. Milanni went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Surprise now sits in second place in the Menard's Low A at 17-8.
Surprise used a timely hit from Ryan Hudson to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shockers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hudson said after the game.
