Canucks Lose Versus Napanee, 4-1
|
Napanee took on Moose Jaw in front of a lively crowd.
Napanee registered a win at Paints Ballpark by beating the Moose Jaw Canucks, 4-1. Pitcher Peyton Larson was one reason why the Express triumphed. The winning pitcher was Larson, now 1-2. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Picking up the save was 19-year old left-handed pitcher Scott Bates.
Jim Henry went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Napanee. The 21-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Arturo Pérez. It was his 10th walk of the season.
"It was a solid team effort," said Henry after the game.
Napanee currently is in third place in the Menard's Low A at 15-11.
