Crush Suffer One-Run Loss at Ballard
|
In a tight tilt between the Ballard Beavers and the Flint Crush, Marv Thomas was the deciding factor. The Ballard left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The win elevated the Beavers to 59-35.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from third baseman Tony Howard. For the game, Howard went 2-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 19th double of the season gave Ballard a 3-2 lead.
"Every loss stings," said Flint manager Rafael Longoria. "This one is no exception."
