The Tijuana Toros went home winners at Ballpark of Wellsville, thanks in large part to starter Juan Fernández. Fernández stifled the Ladue Rams, enabling Tijuana to grab the 5-0 win. Fernández picked up the win for Tijuana, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 8-8. Ladue, at 54-41, has lost 4 straight.

Mark Henderson had a big 2-run double for the Toros in the top of the second inning. With Tijuana leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Vickers and swatted a double to center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Toros ahead, 4-0.

"Juan made some big pitches when he needed to," said Toros manager Milton Mathews.
