The Ballard Beavers picked up a win at Ballpark of Wellsville, knocking off the Ladue Rams, 6-5. Starting pitcher Ron Inostraza played a key role in the triumph. Inostraza, now 1-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Earning his 6th save of the year was Jesse Seals.
In the top of the second, Ballard first baseman José Ramírez had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Ladue hurler Andrés Díaz, Ramírez hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 6-0, Ballard. For the day, Ramírez drove in one run.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Ballard manager Giddy Potts.
The 11th-place Rams now sit at 9-21.
