In a low-scoring affair between the Ladue Rams and the Ballard Beavers, pitcher António Mendoza was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ladue right-hander earned kudos in the 2-1 Rams win. Today's win puts Ladue at 14-16, while Ballard falls to 17-13.

Ladue took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Melvin Farr stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Rams.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Farr told the Ladue News.
