North Ft. Myers Gets 4-1 Win
|
The North Ft. Myers Gators downed the Napanee Express, 4-1, at Paints Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Art Lamplighter had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A- in wins with 4, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winning pitcher was Lamplighter, now 4-2. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Cody Thomas sewed up the save, his 1st.
Ysmael Moncal had a direct impact on the outcome. Moncal contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put North Ft. Myers up, 2-1.
"Art is a gamer," said North Ft. Myers manager Joe Morris.
The win puts North Ft. Myers at 19-15 this season.
