Ladue Tacks 8-1 Loss on Ellesmere Island
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ladue Rams and Ellesmere Island Snowpeople.
Andrés Díaz was nothing short of phenomenal for the Ladue Rams. The 19-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 8-1. Díaz got the win, improving to 1-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.
The Rams got an important contribution from left fielder Roberto Maldonado, who in the bottom of the third hit a 1-0 fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Rams ahead, 3-0.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Gary MacHardy.
The win makes Ladue 13-23.
