Doug Mahoney never let the Baby Blues get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Toros to a win, 6-1. Mahoney, now 1-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Toros to 23-13.

Carl Rønningen cracked a home run off Toby Sweet in the top of the second. His solo blast put the Toros on top, 1-0. In all, Rønningen had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Quebec City skipper Koryusai Ohayashi.
