Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople and the Capital Hill Interns. Ellesmere Island won it, 3-1. Ellesmere Island starter Marvin Johnson was in command. The Interns, now 14-26, have lost 4 straight.
Bob Ryan, who leads the 3A- in RBI with 29, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ryan contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Ellesmere Island up, 3-1.
"Marvin did a good job of managing their lineup," said Ellesmere Island manager Gary MacHardy.
