Sharpe Leads Quebec City to 1-0 Win
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Quebec City Baby Blues.
In a well-pitched game between the Quebec City Baby Blues and the Bompton Baby Lakers, pitcher Floyd Sharpe was fantastic. The Quebec City right-hander helped his team secure the win, 1-0. Bill Carson picked up his 7th save of the season.
Sharpe, who dominated for Quebec City, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 8. Bompton batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Floyd -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Baby Blues manager Andrés Ventura. "He was the key to us winning."
The last-place Baby Lakers have lost 12 straight games.
