Greenport pitcher Fernando Rodríguez did his part in helping his team defeat the Napanee Express, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Rodríguez yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-2. Haden Charles finished the game for Greenport and earned his 2nd save.
Yen-nien Choi hit a run-scoring double off Victor Griffin in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Harbor Whales in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Choi had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rodríguez said.
With the victory, the Harbor Whales upped their record to 22-21.
