Gators Get Extra-Inning, 1-0 Win
|
Hurler Andrew Johnson gave the North Ft. Myers Gators a solid start. The native of Griffin, Georgia helped his team defeat the Greenport Harbor Whales, 1-0, at Ballpark of Robbins. Art O'Rourke got the save, the 10th for him this season. The 6th-place Gators sport a record of 22-22.
The Gators liked what they saw from Johnson. The 19-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Harbor Whales to no runs on 1 hit over 9 innings, and striking out 10.
"When Andrew is on, he can really move the ball around," said North Ft. Myers manager Felipe Palazzola.
