Gators Get Past Ellesmere Island for 3-2 Win
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Manuel Ríos into a win. Instead, the North Ft. Myers Gators prevailed, 3-2. Ríos threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The 8th-place Gators now have a record of 23-25.

North Ft. Myers needed the clutch hitting of Ysmael Moncal to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gators on top, 3-2. For the game, Moncal had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Bottom line," said Ellesmere Island skipper Gary MacHardy, "we didn't play well enough to win."
