The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople downed the Shady Side Zoomies, 8-4, at The Igloo. The Snowpeople were led by Tim Steele. Steele went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Lao-che Khoo, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-2. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Ellesmere Island goes to 21-27, Shady Side to 29-19.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Snowpeople grabbed the lead when Steele hit his 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Héctor González made it 8-4, Ellesmere Island.
"We came out aggressive," said Snowpeople manager Rodrige Margalha. "We came out swinging the bats."
