The Moose Jaw Canucks beat the Capital Hill Interns, 8-1, at Foresters Stadium. Miguel Ortega, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Joe Woolsey got the win, improving to 5-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The Canucks now own a record of 23-27.
Vernon Adams took Capital Hill hurler Martti Vatanen deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Canucks on top, 2-0. In all, Adams had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Ortega.
