The Greenport Harbor Whales picked up a win at Ballpark of Wellsville, knocking off the Ladue Rams, 8-4. Starting pitcher Steve Moore played a key role in the triumph. The 4th-place Harbor Whales now sit at 27-24.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ying-hua Dong? The Greenport right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Harbor Whales on top, 2-0. For the game, Dong had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Moore. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
