Gators Squeeze By Ellesmere Island, 4-3
|
The North Ft. Myers Gators clipped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 4-3, in 10 innings at Dodge Field. The standout performance belonged to North Ft. Myers pitcher and Bradenton, Florida, native Art Lamplighter. Adam Fossnes picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Will Stephens suffered the loss. North Ft. Myers has a record of 25-26, placing them 7th in the Menard's Low A.
The Gators relied on second baseman Carlos Silva for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Silva said.
