Beavers Drop Snowpeople, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Ballard Beavers and the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 19-year old left-handed pitcher Avery Finley proved to be the difference. The Ballard left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Beavers win. Picking up the save was 19-year old left-handed pitcher Jesse Seals. The 'W' lifts Ballard's record to 28-25.
Center Fielder Marc Maron made an impact for Ballard, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Eibe Heesemans in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Maron went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Finley.
