Greenport pitcher Dan McFarland did his part in helping his team defeat the Ogallala Octopi, 7-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Harbor Whales sent 19-year-old shortstop Tamuramaro Kimura to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a 2-run single, to put Greenport on top, 5-2.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Kimura told the Greenport Times.
